Galina Poloz is a contemporary artist working primarily in watercolour. Her paintings explore the point where architecture dissolves into light, air and memory.
Working with transparent layers of wet-on-wet watercolour on cotton paper, she creates quiet, atmospheric spaces where architecture gradually dissolves into atmosphere rather than description. Her practice is focused not on direct representation, but on the fragile space between image and perception—where form becomes reflection, trace, vibration, or memory.
Rivers, cities, ruins, roads, gardens, branches, and fragments of architecture appear in her work as carriers of emotional and temporal experience rather than specific places. Human presence remains indirect, existing as atmosphere, silence, imprint, or echo within space itself.
Poloz works intuitively, allowing water, pigment, transparency, and empty space to shape the emotional structure of the image. Her restrained palette and dissolving forms create contemplative environments suspended between presence and disappearance.
