Gary Wagner

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Gary Wagner discovered his passion for photography in high school. That early introduction set the stage for a lifelong pursuit of visual storytelling, leading him to study at the renowned Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. For more than four decades, Gary has made his home in the Pacific Northwest, a region whose rugged coastlines and dramatic landscapes deeply shape his artistic vision.
Gary works exclusively in black and white, a medium he utilizes to distill the essence of the natural world into pure form. By focusing on shapes, lines, and raw tonal contrast, he conveys the spirit of land, sea, and light with absolute clarity and reverence.
As a dedicated fine art printmaker, his limited-edition photographs are custom-crafted to rigorous museum standards. He prints exclusively using archival carbon pigment inks on 100% cotton Canson Rag Photographique paper, hand-signing, numbering, and blind-embossing each physical margin to ensure a timeless gallery presence. Gary's imagery captures far more than scenery—it transforms pristine coastal landscapes into enduring expressions of beauty, wonder, and emotion.
