Hello, my name is Gema and I have come to this world to tell the story in a different way. Inside me there is a library full of images and words that intertwine to give birth to stories that I capture in my books and in my paintings. All my stories come to this world to put light in the shadows. Love is the force that drives me and art is my way of expressing it.

When I was little I wanted to be an artist, I loved making up stories and recreating them. Although I am shy, my grandmother and my mother motivated me to go ahead with my dream. But when I started school I had a teacher who forbade me to talk and another who forbade me to paint. So I put my dream in the box of memories and became a real intellectual. After spending many years in college, I discovered that my life was empty and I opened the box of memories. There was the artist with her fears, her anger and her sadness, but eager to get out of the box. So I made a radical change in my life and hung up my intellectual costume to get fully into the world of theater. And there my story began again. For a few years I was a professional clown, then I started writing books and now I also illustrate and paint. The adventure has not been easy, along the way I had to transcend all the layers that prevented me from being who I am, but I have succeeded and now I am happy because I am authentic. And this is what I give to the world with my art, an action that is the result of being who I am in every moment.
