MOVEMENTS

Painting is movement. Dipping your brush or palette knife into the paint, applying it to the canvas. Concentrated, precise, sometimes wild and expressive. You step back, walk back to the work, and the process begins again. Self-educated

Gerard te Wierik (born 1956) is a strong and distinctive craftsman. He trained as a traditional graphic designer with extensive knowledge and mastery of various techniques. When the advent of digitalization in the 1980s with the arrival of the Apple Macintosh presented an opportunity, Te Wierik seized it with both hands. As an artist, he now combines the knowledge of his former craft with painting. Computer use remains a key element of his working method. His background in graphic design has also contributed to his love of designs, patterns, and color.
