Gerdus Brönn

As an artist, I am deeply inspired by the natural world and the balance of life. Growing up on a family farm, I developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and wonder of the animals around me. This early inspiration led me to study fine art at the Pretoria Art Ballet and Music School, where I honed my skills and developed my unique style of large, expressive, textural paintings. My work is driven by my spirituality and the desire to connect with the viewer on a deeper level. Through the use of vibrant colors, bold brush strokes, and thick layers of paint, I create works that are both raw and powerful, inviting the viewer to experience the intensity of my artistic vision.

Now, as a resident of Mauritius, I find myself constantly drawn to the vast ocean and the relationship between mankind and the environment. My paintings are a reflection of my own inner journey, as I use my paintings as a means of processing and communicating my deepest thoughts and feelings. My works are often characterized by their expressive, gestural brushwork and their use of intense colours and bold forms, which work together to create a sense of movement and energy.
