Gianluca Martini

I was born in Recanati, Italy, where I currently live and work.

My artistic journey began by documenting abandoned urban landscapes through photography. In these forgotten spaces, I observed a profound symbiosis between man and nature, characterized by an evocative metamorphosis of forms and colors.

My artistic research takes shape through paintings, sculptures, and installations. I replicate these chromatic and aesthetic atmospheres using pigments and rust, artificially accelerating the aging process.

Through the use of simple salvaged materials—like nails and iron wire—I portray the imperfect human condition and the inner turmoil that leads to illness, eventually designing escape routes through the creation of imaginary maps.

I construct confined spaces where grotesque machinery attempts to nourish fossilized vegetation. I harness sunlight to sustain artificial plants, casting shadows of memories onto glass enclosures as a tribute to what has been lost.

My goal is to deliver a powerful message through visual harmony, capturing the viewer’s attention to provide a quiet moment of reflection amidst the surrounding noise and indifference.

After graduating from art school, I attended the Experimental Design Center, where I earned my professional certification as a Graphic Designer.
