Slavomir Gibej

In my work, I focus on capturing the authentic beauty of the human body through the technique of lifecasting. This method allows me to transfer the detailed texture and emotion of a living form into a lasting sculptural presence.

Beyond fine art, I dedicate myself to creating '3picnik'—unique objects that merge sculptural artistry with functional design. My work is a celebration of intimacy and the human form, seeking a balance between aesthetic experience and practical utility within a space.

Slavomír Gibej, holding a Master of Arts (Mgr. art.) degree, is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (VŠVU) in Bratislava, where he specialized in sculpture.

After his studies, he spent many years working in the advertising industry until reaching a point of professional burnout. He made a profound return to free sculpture following an intensive 'darkness retreat' (stay in the dark), which he perceived as a new beginning for his artistic career. Today, he creates his works in his studios located in both Bratislava and Prague.
