Composer Giorgi (Gio) Janiashvili, born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and now a US permanent resident based in New York City, works across concert music, film, multimedia, and installation art. His work has been presented at leading venues including the Southbank Centre, Institute of Contemporary Arts London, Royal Observatory, Laban Theatre, Abrons Arts Center, The Tank NYC, Georgian National Museum, and the National Gallery Prague, with commissions from the Prague Quadrennial, Frankfurter Buchmesse, the Goethe-Institut, and violist Rivka Golani, among others.
A graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London (BMus, MMus), he has received awards and scholarships from the Leverhulme Trust, Beatrice Taylor, Ludwig Lebell, Trinity Laban, and the Vivian Prindle Outreach Prize.
