I was born in Cosio in Valtellina in the province of Sondrio. Soon, I developed a passion for drawing and painting, but the environment in which I lived and the lack of art schools in my town oriented my studies towards technical schools
To combine my passion for art and my technical knowledge in 1978 with my brothers I founded a small company for producing design objects in wood.
For the development of the company we have worked with the most important Italian artists and designers.
Our company was the first in Italy to offer a modern interpretation of the traditional cuckoo clock, with a wide collection that is constantly being improved with the contribution of young professionals.
The commitment in managing the company did not allow me to develop artistic activities at a professional level. However in all these years I continued to paint, exposing only occasionally especially locally.
My work arises from a vision of art that wants to synthesize two concepts seemingly contradictory but actually complementary: art as a depiction of the suffering of the world and art as an escape from reality into an universe of pure pleasure and of absolute beauty
From the beginning I have engaged in the search for a personal language ...

From 1973 to 1978 I attended the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan. In the same period through study tours in Europe and the United States I deepened the study of abstract painters - particularly Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman .
Currently I am studing most renowned Italian and European artists of 17th and 18th century
I am drived by curiosity to understand, through direct practice, the technical procedures that had led "the so-called Old Masters" to very high levels of expressive technique. The reflections of Thomas Bernhard, in particular his work (1985) help me a lot in my research
