About Gisella Stapleton

Inspired by Latin American folklore and culture, Peruvian artist Gisella Stapleton creates works of vibrant colors and social undertones to motivate the viewer and invite reflection. Her work combines realism and abstract art, mixing figures and patterns based on nature and Andean iconography, as well as other native cultures. Gisella uses a non-naturalistic combination of complementary colors that produce strong visual contrasts as a vehicle to express emotions. The theme of her work revolves around issues related to the empowerment of women, indigenous identity and cultural manifestations.

Education

Currently studying Master degree in Contemporary Latin American Studies at the Complutense University of Madrid.
