Giulia Marie Candotti

Born in 1997, in Brussels, and raised in Kenya and Italy, my art has always been influenced by the natural and man-made environments around me. My years at the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome strongly marked my painting style as they made me evolve from figurative art to a more abstract, interpretative style. This evolution was particularly marked by my years at the Academy of Fine Arts. My style also includes artworks that are a mix between abstract and figurative, and sometimes purely figurative. The main themes are always the environment, the objects and my general surroundings. There is always a connection to time, life and/or nature.

BA in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome, MA in Arts and Culture at Maastricht University.

- November 2025 : publication in Novum Artis Magazine's 11th issue
- June 2025: Personal exhibition at Trattoria Stendhal, Galleria Alberto Sordi, Rome, Italy. The exhibition was focused on the initiative “Arte in Galleria”, in which I exhibited some of my most recent artworks.
- May 2024 – present: showcased some artworks at Er Box, a musical space and bar in the centre of Rome.
- November 2021 – May 2022: curating the inventory of a private modern art collection, Italy. Coordinated the inventory, classification and valuation of a significant private
modern art collection, comprising paintings of 20 th century’s prominent artists
- January 2018 - May 2018: curating the Collective Art Exhibition “Le sedie vuote”, Rome, Italy. Exhibition at the Foundation of the Holocaust Museum of Rome (Fondazione Museo della Shoah). The exhibition included some of my own paintings, created specifically for this event, and specifically reflecting the different issues surrounding the Holocaust. My
inputs included planning, designing, and setting up the whole exhibition.
