David Rule

Creativity to me...is growing, experimenting, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, getting lost and coming back.
Inspired by artists that use simple yet impactful imagery I am continuously developing my own style which is ever evolving and reinvented sometimes with each new piece. I try to keep it interesting and convey that inspiration in my own work. l don't compartmentalize my work and don’t always know what the end result will be when I start a piece of work . Continually thinking from conception thru execution, making changes, sometimes starting over is common practice for me finally reaching that point on a piece that I am proud to sign my name to.
My main mediums are charcoal, pastel, and acrylic. My work reflects a bold use of color, black and white. Giving the viewer, admirer, and collector a strong emotional impact is my main purpose.
