With a career spanning over 30 years, I have become deeply woven into the fabric of South African fine art. My creative journey began in Namibia, fueled by the mentorship of my grandmother, Zizi (wife of the celebrated poet DJ Opperman), which instilled in me a lifelong reverence for storytelling through paint.

After formal training at Pretoria Technikon, I dedicated my practice to capturing the evocative spirit of the South African landscape. Today, I am best known for my 'Karoo Madonnas' and intricate, symbolic still lifes - works characterised by striking palettes and a poignant exploration of feminine strength.

Whether through a vast Karoo horizon or the quiet gaze of a contemporary Madonna, my work seeks to uncover the 'heart' within the subject, blending traditional technique with a modern, soulful narrative.

Diploma in Fine Art and Pottery from the Pretoria Technikon University
