Gregor Zitko

Gregor Žitko was born in Koper in 1992. After finishing high school, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, majoring in painting. In 2019, he graduated with honors under the mentorship of Professor Bojan Gorenec.

In recent years, his creative work has focused on abstraction on the one hand, and on pop-art, more contemporary art on the other, which can be somewhat socially critical or simply a simplified form of communication or artistic representation, which is therefore also easier for the viewer to understand.

On this page I represent art series called "Jazz Paintings", which was done for final thesis on Academy in Ljubljana. Later series developed into "Jam Session" series.

"The connection between jazz and visual art is historically rich, with many artists finding inspiration in the rhythm, spontaneity, and collaborative nature of jazz"


This year (2025), I decided to change to figurative painting, following steps of colorism and fauvism, and currently working on a series called "Visions".
