Grenville Charles

Grenville Charles was born in Ayreshire in Scotland on March the 8th 1968. He has been taking photographs since the age of 9 when he was given a camera for his birthday.
He attended Plymouth college of Art and Design where he studied photography, and then Central St Martins College in London where he studied all forms of printmaking. Essentially a documentary photographer, Grenville's most recent work starting in 2004 and continuing to the present has been a massively ambitious project to document the indigenous tribal people of West Papua.

Grenville studied photography at Plymouth college of Art & Design, graduating in 1986. He studied printmaking at Central St Martins in London in 1999, he has worked as a medical photographer and a photojournalist. He frequently works as a Unit Stills photographer for television and film. Clients include the BBC, Granada TV and a number of film companies.,
