Guillaume Werle, a figurative sculptor, explores the relationship between human beings and time, their presence in the world, and their impact upon it. He develops a formal vocabulary composed of solid forms, which he calls Envelopes, and hollow forms, which he calls Imprints. Emptiness and space are also integral to his artistic language. He was the head of Louis Cane's sculpture workshop from 1995 to 2000. He has also collaborated with André Barelier, Jean-Michel Folon, Robert Combas, and Antoine Poncet (grandson of Maurice Denis).
