Guy Boster

ARTIST STATEMENT: IF I KNEW WHAT I WAS DOING, IT WOULDN'T BE FUN ANYMORE .My name is Guy Boster. I’m an artist living in Portland, Oregon. I was born and raised is Central Pennsylvania. I was an art director/graphic designer for many years, working 10 years in New York City, yes, during the Mad Men era, 17 years in Dallas, Texas, 6 years in San Francisco, and 15 years in Portland, and took up painting full time about 15 years ago.

I received a BFA in art from the Philadelphia College of Art, now the University of the Arts, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.

My paintings are in private collections in Seattle, Portland, Southern California and in New Jersey, and I have been included in shows at Gallery 114, Verum Ultimum, Oregon Society of Artists, and Splendaporium galleries in Portland. I have won several awards for my paintings including: First Place, Best of Show, and Mayor’s Choice, at Glatt House Gallery, Woodburn, Oregon. In 2009, I won the Queen Anne mural design competition in Seattle Washington, completing a 110 foot wide by 15 foot high mural.
