Hacob Khodaverdian

My work is rooted in the tradition of all things photographic.
While at first glance my work seems bound to purely aesthetic issues in modernist discourse, references to life, nature, time and space are also plentiful. A good example of my artistic blend is my Light Painting series, presented here, which consists of exposing the camera to various light forms while dragging and moving it in different directions & at multiple time exposures. This dragging technique creates a flowing, soft and silky brushed colors & dashed and dotted lines or pulsating lines. These Light Painted Textures has yielded extensive possibilities in color, form and composition as well as storytelling. The resulting work depicts a three dimensional space and depth that conjures up different interpretations and references various subject matters albeit all in abstract form.
