Halle Farago is a Chicago-based artist and designer whose paintings are inspired by vintage found imagery and personal photographs. Using bold color and expressive brushwork, she reimagines moments from the past. Her paintings transform small, often black & white snapshots into larger-scale works filled with rich color and atmosphere. By reimagining these moments, she brings a renewed sense of life to the past, honoring memory, nostalgia, and the people who shape our stories.
Her work explores themes of memory, lineage, and place, examining how photographs preserve fleeting moments while inviting new interpretations across generations. By expanding and reimagining these images, Farago creates paintings that reflect on the emotional weight of the everyday and the enduring connections that shape our personal histories.
Farago lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
