I started to call myself an artist only recently.
For the proceeding 30 years I was a sweater designer and successful entrepreneur. My company created and manufactured men's and women's sweaters that were the cover pages of many catalogs and were sold nationwide in fine retailers. The designs were hand drawn intarsia knit and geometric patterns. The fibers were alpaca and pima cotton.
In 2007, I renamed my company Hallet Sweater Art, added cashmere and specialized in optical illusion sweater dressing designs for women. Color blocking and line placement were key.
I retired and became a member of the Marin County 2013-2014 Civil Grand Jury. I served as a commissioner on the San Anselmo Arts Commission in 2016.
I love to travel and take candid photos of people and these photographs form the basis of my art. I think that people reflect their customs and surroundings and I want to capture them living their daily lives.
I also enjoy painting pictures of children and have done several commissions.
