Hanna Extaz

HANNA EXTAZ is a multidisciplinary Ukrainian artist. Her practice explores themes of freedom, power, sexuality, corporeality, masculinity and femininity, domination and submission, as well as the gaining and surrendering of control.
A central part of her artistic research is shibari, approached as a living bodily language rather than a decorative or fetishized form. Through working with rope, she investigates presence, trust, boundaries, vulnerability, and power dynamics on a physical and experiential level. These embodied processes are then translated into visual acts, shaping her works in visual art and performance.
She works with collage, graphics, painting, performance, and mixed media techniques, often blurring the boundaries between bodily experience and visual representation.
Her artworks are held in private collections in the United Kingdom, United States, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Spain, and Australia.
Between 2019 and 2024, she participated in group exhibitions of contemporary art in Ukraine, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Israel, Germany, and Poland.
