Hanna Milevska (M.ANNA) is a Ukrainian contemporary artist whose professional practice began in 2008. Working in oil painting and liner pen and ink on canvas and linen, she brings together symbolic figuration, neo-expressionism, and symbolic surrealism.
Her visual world is populated by masks, watchful eyes, fragmented figures, and hybrid forms. These recurring characters carry questions of memory, identity, vulnerability, and transformation. Personal experience—including displacement and life in wartime Ukraine—takes shape through colour, line, and symbolic imagery.
In 2013, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ukraine in Kyiv presented her solo exhibition “Debut,” featuring approximately seventy oil paintings. Five of her still lifes entered the museum’s collection. Her works have also been exhibited internationally and are held in private collections in Ukraine, Romania, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
“Art is my ritual—a personal dialogue with the world and with myself.”
Private artistic training and mentorship with Vladimir M. Levchenko, Filip Chernobrov, and Vitaliy Petrovskiy.
Continued independent study and studio practice in painting, drawing, colour, and composition.
