Hans De Cleen

Hans de Cleen, who signs his works as CLEEN, was born in Amsterdam, 1946.
After secondary school he attended the Gerrit Rietveld Academy from which he graduated in 1973. Since 1975 he works as a professional image maker.
Hans de Cleen works mainly in mixed techniques on paper zich as pastelchalk, watercolour, pencil and crayon.
Pastelshades occupy a special place in his work.
Realism, a unique use of color and subtle application of symbolic elements features his personal style.
