I am Hari Park, a painter and interdisciplinary art director. Interdisciplinary art, in my view, is a genre that defies the concept of genre itself; it is a boundary-crossing practice that embraces the process of fusing and collaborating beyond any given labels.
At the core of my painting lies the projection of energy, grounded in the 'authenticity' of East Asian painting traditions(oriental painting). I am deeply moved by the explosive vitality of contemporary dancers and calisthenics athletes. I absorb this dynamic energy, manifest it through my own physical movements, and materialize it on canvas through a delicate balance of the figurative and the abstract.
Believing in the infinite expansion of art, I have curated and directed projects that push these boundaries further—ranging from video productions utilizing chromakey rooms with dancers and athletes, to staging live performance art that activates the entire exhibition space.
