Harris Fanany

Harris’s work explores memory, place, and emotion through abstraction. His fascination with landscape was shaped by his time sailing across East Nusa Tenggara, including Sumba and Komodo, leaving a lasting imprint on his visual language.

Rather than depicting these environments literally, he translates their essence into layered compositions that evoke longing, distance, and a quiet emotional resonance. His paintings embrace both imperfection and harmony, inviting viewers to bring their own memories into the work.

Now based in Jakarta, Harris maintains a full-time studio practice. His works have been collected internationally, including by a New York–based interior design studio, and have garnered attention from platforms such as Architectural Digest. Through his practice, he continues to explore the landscapes—both internal and external—that shape human experience.
