Concerned with the relationships, tension, and proportion of geometric shapes, his work is seeking the advance of progressive and logical abstraction of architectural form and colour.
The preoccupation with finding, extracting and interpreting architectural and even the natural world as equivalent geometric shapes, stems from a long standing appreciation of Kasimir Malevich and the Supremacists. The difference being that instead of geometry as subject, his work has a visual point of reference and is sourced from the urban landscape where he lives in London and responds to an aesthetic of architectural propinquity. This has a strong relevance to the work as well as colour, shade and surface quality, which in turn also make reference to sky, glass, steel and stone, expressed through an exacting method of collage marquetry with contrasting and harmonising tonal values.
