Heidi Zito

Heidi Zito is an emerging contemporary abstract painter based in Brooklyn, NY. Her latest works, Sequence of Patience, reveal the turmoil, strife, and isolation that’s a result of succumbing to societal pressures and our self-inflicted obsession with power and success. Time as the great and universal equalizer is a recurring theme in her images, which often emerges in repetition, linear abstractions, and subject pensiveness. Zito’s approach counterbalances tightly controlled brushwork with impassioned gestures to juxtapose the carefully crafted façade with the asynchronous psyche. Born in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1984, Zito received her BFA from Florida State University in 2009 and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2012.
