Hildegarde Handsaeme is a Belgian contemporary artist known for her refined minimalist language, feminine presence, and profound sense of visual balance. For more than three decades, she has developed a distinctive body of work rooted in pure line, geometric harmony, and emotional stillness, creating artworks that invite quiet contemplation beyond narrative.


Working primarily with ink and acrylic, she composes minimalist female figures and abstract structures where silence, movement, and form exist in delicate equilibrium. Her work has received international curatorial recognition and has been featured in publications including Women in Art – Masterpieces of Visual Art, Resident Magazine New York, DESTIG Magazine, and the WBM Luxury Guide – 30 Artists to Collect.


She has exhibited in New York, London, Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam, and her works are held in private collections across Europe and the United States, including the Dickerson Collective in Los Angeles.

Although Hildegarde is a self-taught artist, she studied visual arts for four years, focusing intensively on drawing and proportion. These foundations continue to inform her refined linework. Her unique artistic voice developed outside traditional academies, leading to a distinctive, independent style rooted in minimalism and female abstraction.
