Hildegarde Handsaeme is a contemporary Belgian artist best known for her minimalist female figures, geometric line art, and figurative abstract paintings. Although Hildegarde is a self-taught artist, she studied visual arts for four years, focusing intensively on drawing and proportion. These foundations continue to inform her refined linework. Her unique artistic voice developed outside traditional academies, leading to a distinctive, independent style rooted in minimalism and female abstraction.
