Süleyman Özderin

He was born in 1971 in Avanos district of Nevşehir. He completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara. In 1995, he graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, ‘Interior Architecture and Environmental Design’ Department with a success award. In 1999, she opened her first solo exhibition at Akbank Art Gallery and participated in many competitive exhibitions. In 2002, he received the Honourable Mention Award in the 13th Tekel Traditional Painting Competition, in 2015, he received the First Prize in the Çanakkale Painting Competition organised by the Gallipoli Memorial Club in Australia in cooperation with Turkey (the work has also been permanently accepted to the Museum of the Gallipoli Memorial Club in Australia), and in 2016, he received the First Prize in the Yunus Emre Painting Competition with the theme ‘Like Yunus’ organised by the Governorship of Eskişehir.

In 2003, he completed his Master's thesis research titled ‘Content and Form in Abstract Painting’ at Hacettepe University Institute of Social Sciences and in 2011 he completed his PhD thesis titled ‘Ontological Foundations in Contemporary Abstract Art’ at Gazi University Institute of Social Sciences.
