Indika Sisira Kumara Wijerathne Dasinge

Indika Wijerathne is an established visual artist based in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec. His paintings move between layered landscapes, mask-like portraits and quiet, dreamlike figures, built in heavy acrylic impasto and mixed media with collage, handwritten text and calligraphic marks. Rich color, sculpted surfaces and a strong sense of atmosphere run through all of it, from glowing horizons and red mountain ranges to carved faces and silent figures in open space.

He holds a BFA Honours in Painting from the University of the Visual and Performing Arts in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and has exhibited in Montreal, Colombo, Paris and Stockholm. In 2026 his painting Many Roots, One Living Territory was chosen for the cover of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC Cultural Policy. His work is held in private and institutional collections in Canada, Sri Lanka, France and Sweden.
