Innerlig Series

INNERLIG is a photo series by Lieke Romeijn and Anne Furk - two multidisciplinary artists and women with a deep appreciation for nature, playfulness and awkward beauty.
With one in front of the camera, the other one behind the lens, the images unfold in an intuitive symbiosis.
The intimate process exploring the relationship between body and landscape merges into a momentary portrait of two embodied perspectives, sometimes aligned and smooth, other times with tangible edges and a good portion of humor.

When Lieke and Anne met through serendipity in southern Sweden in 2023 they immediately felt intrigued by each other and their intuitive approach to create. They decided to meet again a few weeks later in Portugal to explore what this connection wants to be...
There, in the embrace of nature and stillness, Innerlig (swedish for "heartfelt," "sincere," or "fervent") was born, and keeps growing wherever they meet.
So far they have created together in France, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark and Portugal.

Lieke Romeijn (1991) was born in Holland and lives and works between Amsterdam and Ariège/France.

Lieke Romeijn graduated from Art Academy in St. Joost, Breda/NL in 2014, in the fields of illustration and photography.
She is self-taught in ceramics and weaving.

Anne Furk graduated with a diploma as Design-Engineer for Fashion (University of Applied Science, Mönchengladbach/Germany) in 2008.
She started her own interactive design label (gut.) and initiated the Kleidkollektiv (a support structure for young designers) in Hamburg in 2009. Simultaneously she was active in cultural activism and started organizing cultural events (concerts, festivals, interdisciplinary events) until her first son Loke was born in 2013, and the family moved from Hamburg to Scandinavia in 2014. Three more brothers joined the family and Anne paused her active creative and cultural work for 6 years.
In 2020 Anne started again to create - with focus on writing, intuitive drawing and creating warm spaces through recycled light installations. 'furklore' is collecting her different projects.
Intuition and the belief that beauty can be created from the simplest of things have been her teachers...
