I am a contemporary British painter and printmaker.
My work is an expressive response to place, people and memory. I use a variety of media and techniques from oils and collage to silkscreen. My colourful acrylic monotypes are painted directly through the back of a screen and display a luminous energy and vibrancy.
Figurative work starts with life drawing and painting. I use the figure as an abstract form, placed within the whole to form a design. I’ve been told that my work is full of colour and joy. I love this but I also aim to bring a freshness and to convey, life, energy and optimism.
I was born in London and studied art and design at Canterbury College of Art. Following a career as an advertising agency art director I now paint from my London studio.
