Irina Anikina

My artistic practice is primarily centered on portraiture, but it extends beyond capturing a mere physical likeness. I treat the human face as an archive—a landscape marked indelibly by biography, experience, and destiny. I am less concerned with capturing how a person looks and more with investigating the unique stories embedded within them.

My inspiration is twofold: I study the biographies of creative minds—such as architects, designers, writers, composers, and ballet dancers—and, separately, I draw conceptual inspiration from the broader themes of architecture, history, and gemology.

Currently, my creative process is twofold. I work within the traditional, physical media of oil and watercolor painting, employing a natural color palette. In parallel, I develop digital illustrations in Procreate.

From 2013 to 2025, an academic education was received in the field of painting and drawing.
