Ismail Kartal

Born in the sun-drenched lands of Adana in 1985, Ismail Kartal began his journey of exploring the depths behind the visible through charcoal drawings at a very young age. Although his early strokes drew widespread admiration, the pragmatic demands of life led him toward the world of land and science, resulting in a degree in Agricultural Engineering. For seven years, he navigated the rational and competitive labyrinths of the corporate sales world—a period during which he personally experienced the modern human’s struggle with "ownership" and "belonging."
​However, the creative fire within never flickered out. He first channeled this energy into the performing arts, exploring the tragedy and aesthetics of the human soul as a theater actor and instructor. A profound spiritual awakening in 2022 acted as a pivotal catalyst, prompting him to break free from the chains of the corporate world and retreat into a state of absolute silence and searching. As of 2024, he stepped into the fluid world of acrylics to manifest this awakening onto canvas.
