Ivanna Mirto, is a contemporary artist working primarily with mixed media on paper. Her practice focuses on the behavior of visual structures under pressure, examining how systems persist, fracture, and reorganize when stability is not guaranteed.
Her work is built through accumulation, interruption, and displacement. Layered gestures, graphic marks, and fragmented elements suggest partial systems—notations, pathways, grids, and signals that attempt orientation without resolution. Black functions as material weight and resistance, while color appears intermittently, without hierarchy or narrative dominance.
White space plays an active role in her compositions, isolating forms and emphasizing spatial instability. Rather than presenting narratives or fixed meanings, her work registers conditions such as tension, friction, and drift, emphasizing persistence over closure and process over outcome.
