Ivona Martincic

My paintings celebrate women and their imagination, joy of existence and freedom to create their own reality. I am praising moments of leisure and doing nothing, times of happiness and fleeting pleasures. While seemingly doing nothing, there is a whole world of thoughts going on in the characters’ minds. They are creating their own reality, enjoying life as it is and imagining what it could be.

Ivona Martinčić was born in Croatia and spent her childhood summers on its beautiful coast. This feeling of nostalgia for carefree times is seen in her work. She completed her studies in interior design at KLC School Of Design, London.

​Her art honours the power of imagination, playfulness and freedom to create and shape the world around us. Her canvas pieces combine mixed media, acrylic and oil paint.

She lives between Zagreb and London.
