Jahyun Seo is a multi-disciplinary contemporary artist who has spent over 30 years exploring the tension between "Seeing and Being Seen". With a Ph.D. in Fine Arts from Hongik University, her practice is anchored in a solid research framework that bridges analog craftsmanship and digital transformation.
Her work is deeply rooted in a Christian worldview, translating invisible spiritual truths—faith, revelation, and restoration—into a vibrant, multi-layered visual language. Originally exhibited at the New York Public Library (NYPL), her "Prayertime" series serves as a spiritual archive that decodes the gap between our perception and the divine reality.
By utilizing a unique methodology of "multi-layered flat structures," Seo layers time, space, and faith through diverse media including painting, digital imagery, and installation. Currently based in California and active across New York, San Francisco, and Seoul, she continues to challenge the boundaries of contemporary art, inviting viewers to look beyond the surface and discover the infinite essence of truth and love.
