Jairo Llano

Jairo A. Llano (b. Colombia) is an internationally-based artist and photographer rooted in Bogotá. Trained as an architect, he approaches space as a vessel of perception, tension and narrative.

His work explores the intersection of time, material and identity, extending from sculptural constructions to photographic documentation. Using ephemeral paper forms and archival photographic processes, he investigates how fragile structures and chromatic nuance express resilience and visibility.

Jairo’s work has been featured in international exhibitions and publications, and reflects influences from architectural minimalism, queer poetics, and formal abstraction. He invites viewers to experience perceptual shifts and the poetics of light, color and surface.

If I had to describe the photography I do in a single word, I would say that all my projects investigate IDENTITY. Each series I create responds to questions I have asked myself about what I want to be instead of what I “should be.”
