James A Klein

James A. Klein is a New Zealand based sculptor who in 2022, after 35 successful years in architecture and building, returned to his artistic roots, dedicating himself fully to sculpture.

James’s work is influenced by the concept of erosion—an exploration of how the elements of nature shape and transform the world around us. His work is a reminder of natures’ relentless forces; sun, wind, rain, sea and the passage of time.

In his studio located on the remote Great Barrier Island off New Zealand’s north east coast, surrounded by natural beauty, James finds the clarity and inspiration he seeks. His works are visually striking and avoid unnecessary detail in favour of bold forms that invite viewers to feel rather than analyse.

For James, anything that brings happiness is useful—his beautiful, original sculptures touch the senses and enrich the soul.
