Janice Willis

Based in the original City of Weird, I love creating layered, mixed media abstract pieces as a way of decompressing and processing complex emotions. I am inspired by my memories, travel, the ocean /the beach and the beautiful nature that surrounds me in the Texas Hill Country! My mediums are acrylic, oil pastels and ink incorporating mark making techniques that draw the eye closer to see new details with each glance. Like life itself, my art is layered, marked, oftentimes it takes 3-4 paintings to create the finished pieces.

My work has been exhibited in Austin, Tx at Art for The People Gallery, in the Woodlands at Ardest Gallery and in Vail, Co with Near and Far Gallery. My collectors are based in Texas, Colorado, California and throughout the US
