Jan Peters

I was born in Manchester,but lived in many places including the Caribbean, which gave me my love of vibrant colours. I worked in a multi national industry and education, before resuming my lifelong hobby of painting.
My art is highly unusual as by serendipity I started to paint directly on the back of the acrylic glass. This produces striking and stunning results and has me hooked. The benefits of this unusual work are that each piece is a one off original, it reflect light enhancing space, a d viweing through the flass creates unusual depths, textures and perspectives. It also enables me to create art to bespoke sizes including ultra large floor to ceiling. I have experimented and perfected the types of paints to use which include acrylics, gilts and glass paints and have my own hallmark semi abstract surreal style. I'm inspired by the grace and flow of Eastern Art and my background in mathematics informs my use of perspective and shapes. I aim to capture movement and engage imagination so that my paintings evolve with your own interpretation. Recently at some clients requests I have extended my portfolio to include more affordable canvas originals based on aspects of my acrylic glass work.

I work primarily from my own Gate House Studios. I have exhibited in many major exhibitions and Art Fairs in the North West and in London including the Mall Galleries. I have some collectors with over 20 pieces of my work.
