Jesse Alexander is a freelance commercial photographer and is an independent documentary photographer. He graduated from the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, Farnham [currently UCA] in 2004 and completed an MFA in Documentary Photography at the University of Wales, Newport in 2008.
During his Masters degree, Jesse completed two bodies of work, 'Threshold Zone' (available to purchase here) and 'Turnstile', as part of research into the subterranean landscape. This work represents Jesse's broader interest in landscape representation and practice. In January 2015 his first textbook 'Perspectives on Place: Theory & Practice in Landscape Photography' will be published by Bloomsbury.
Jesse has written extensively for magazines and online publications including 'Source', 'HotShoe', 'Photomonitor' and '1000 Words Photography'. He is based in Somerset UK and is currently Visiting Lecturer in Photography at the University of South Wales, Newport and Curriculum Leader for Photography at the Open College of the Arts.
