Elaine Breinlinger

Jazz has always been a part of Elaine's life, misspent youth in a smokey haze of SohoJazz Clubs and Coffee Bars, lunching with Louis Armstrong and all the Jazz Greats in the 60's was a highlight, hence she's continued bringing jazz instruments out of retirement re-working their forms as they hold a fascination connected to their history and enmeshing them with her own.

From her studio in Hackney she works in oils, sculpture and montage, her paintings articulate an intimate visual language reflecting on relationships and her nomadic lifestyle living in Middle East, Far East, Europe and travelling the Globe.
