J.C. AutoDraw (Chao-Yi Chung) is a contemporary artist based in Taiwan. His practice explores the intersection of automatic drawing, subconscious imagery, and figurative abstraction. Through an intuitive process of mark-making, he creates layered visual fields where fragmented bodies, symbolic forms, and emerging identities continuously merge and dissolve.
His ongoing series, Self Merging, investigates the fluid boundaries between self and collective consciousness, transforming spontaneous gestures into complex visual narratives. Combining influences from Eastern calligraphic traditions and Western oil painting, J.C. AutoDraw develops a distinctive visual language built upon black symbolic linework and evolving organic forms.
