Jean Martin (Raven): Artist Statement
My art exists at the intersection of memory and material. I work in two worlds: the fragile and the heavy. Through Décollage, I tear through layers of street posters to reveal the hidden history of urban life. Through Sculpture, I weld industrial scrap and carve raw wood into totems of resilience. Whether it is a rusted metal cactus or a fractured paper portrait, my work is about finding the story inside the scrap. I deconstruct to create.
