Jeff Antebi is the founder and creative director of Waxploitation, best known for developing the careers of Gnarls Barkley, Broken Bells, and Danger Mouse as well as projects including ROME (featuring Jack White, Norah Jones and Danger Mouse), and Dark Night of the Soul (featuring Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse and David Lynch).
From 2009 to 2010, Antebi traveled to some of the most dangerous places in the world to cover elections held during times of crisis, each presenting a unique perspective: Elections held during war against the Taliban in Afghanistan. Elections held in Ciudad Juarez, one of the deadliest cities in the world, under siege by violent drug cartels. Elections held along the Thai/Malay border, home to a bloody ethno-religious insurgency. Elections held in the midst of chaos and civil unrest in Haiti. Together, the book represents the most harrowing and most beautiful elements found in evolving democracies.
His work as war/crisis/conflict photojournalist and artist has appeared in/been featured by CNN, Current TV, GOOD Magazine, NPR, PBS NewsHour, and Rolling Stone among others.
He was the first photographer ever exhibited by London's StolenSpace gallery (Shepard Fairey, D*Face, Will Barras).
