Jenna Barbe

Jenna Barbe is a Cape Town based artist who works in a variety of different media, specializing in painting, drawing, sculpture and mixed media with found objects. After working at various successful above-the-line agencies in Cape Town and London for twelve years, Barbe attended The Ruth Prowse School of Art to study Fine Art.
Working from an Introspective framework, Barbe is interested in self-inquiry, communication of the self and the human condition. She is researching the duality of existing in two worlds by exploring relationships between inner emotions and the external image that is portrayed. Barbe takes most of her inspiration from nature and her great love of surfing imbues her art.
