Jennifer Linton is a contemporary visual artist who works primarily with the media of drawing, printmaking and new media. She holds a MFA in Visual Arts from York University (2010), and a BA in Art & Art History from the University of Toronto (1992). Linton has been the recipient of numerous awards, including grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Toronto Arts Council. She has exhibited internationally, with exhibitions in the U.S. and across Canada.
The primary focus of Linton's art practice has been to address gender-related issues and represent the experiences of women. Inspired by the second wave feminists, who coined the phrase "˜the personal is political', her work reflects her personal experiences filtered through the lens of art history, mythology and popular culture.
