Jesse Conte

Jesse Conte is a multidisciplinary fine artist based in Portland, Oregon. Working in paint, gouache, collage, ceramics, sculpture, tile and wood carving, he is best known for a minimalist, tactile visual language of flowing symbols and artifacts developed through analog processes and decades of professional design experience.

Conte's work combines folk and modern design aesthetics with a lifelong study of symbols and patterns, approaching art making as a form of creative archaeology. Drawing on iconography, music and physical movement, his practice investigates early civilizations, lost technologies and the patterns of consciousness that connect us to the natural world.

In March 2026, Conte presented his first solo fine art exhibition at Nemo Gallery in Portland, Oregon. His work is held in private collections internationally. His graphic design career has achieved global recognition through projects with Burton Snowboards, K2, Nordica, Scott Sports, Nike Jordan Brand and Quiksilver. Extensive surf and travel through coastal and urban environments continue to shape his practice.
