I live in Baltimore, Maryland. My recent work focuses on techniques that push my medium to extremes, whether it is oil painting using a painting knife, wet, drippy application of acrylics, or transference of instant film emulsion to a permanent surface.
My artwork is inspired by my interests in hiking, travel, literature and poetry, religion and art history. The art of Marc Chagall is my all-time favorite. His works constantly speak to and inspire me.
My paintings are equal parts memories and dreams-- both fact and imagination suspended in paint.
I received my associate degree in fine arts Summa cum laude from Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC.
I believe an artist’s education never ends. I am constantly edifying myself (and therefore my art) with travel, research, inquisitiveness, and constant practice. I work hard to put in my 10,000+ hours of creating, with my ultimate goal being a lifelong pursuit of painting and creating art.
